 Consider, if you will, that they call it the sunshine state. Not the we-know-how-to-organize-an-election state, or the your-vote-really-gets-counted state. So it should come as little suprise that another election has come and gone in Florida with little or no success at preserving the ideals of our system of government. Say you went to all the trouble of registering to vote, well maybe you've been accidentally registered as a felon. Or, maybe your local polling place is closed for some strange reason. Better yet, maybe your polling place is open but the voting machines don't work. *Sigh*, you think that they'd have learned by now. Maybe all that sunshine does something to the cognitive process. |
